Former Sherwood Elementary teacher Lachelle Boyd was profiled as part of The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal’s ‘12 Who Made a Difference’ feature on Dec. 26. Using the creative writing skills taught to them by Boyd, her students’ letters persuaded a number of business executives to donate over $213,000 in computer and playground equipment to the East Memphis elementary school to date.
